Rumor has it, Berlin is the Street and Urban Art Mecca in Germany. 

As Berlin does not border on to any city of the Franconian region in Bavaria I tried to find out whether there is any good Street Art in Nuremberg, my adoptive home. 

After my first, slight inquiries on the internet I could not find much that seriously contributes to "Nurembergs Urban Art" scene. As an aside: I put the term in quotation marks as there is no scene that could be declared as Urban Art, especially not in Nuremberg. At least that´s current my opinion.

To give you a brief glimpse just look up "streetart nürnberg" on Google. I´m pretty sure you´ll agree with my statement according to internet research.

When it comes down to it, the only convenient contribution to Street Art or Urban Art in the Franconian metropolitan region is a blogger called "sugarraybanister". If you speak German you´ll soon figure out that he/she has a real interest in art, no matter if it is Graffiti, Urban/Street Art or photographs.

In the end, if you look at these pictures you´ll maybe have the same doubting thoughts I have now: "Maybe, but just maybe, there is something like hope for the Urban Art scene in Nuremberg.

In fact, my hope is steadily growing and I would like to dedicate the next articles to Urban Art in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg, including Ansbach, Furth, Erlangen and Schwabach, encouraging people to be creative and embellish our cities with beautiful art.

To reach this goal and to provide you with brilliant pictures I´d need to buy a good camera, invest money on my websites design, make good SEO marketing to reach a lot of people out there and finally to represent your art properly.

Was steckt dahinter? 

Kleine bis mittelgroße Künstler, Freaks, Designer und Modeschöpfer versammeln sich hier, um in Form von zeitlich limitierten Sonderaktionen ihre Produkte feil zu bieten. 

Ob Stofftaschen, Shirts, Möbel, Accessoires, hochwertige Drucke und Poster oder Wandsticker, es ist für jeden etwas dabei.

Der ein oder andere Kunstinteressierte wird es schon wissen: Die Stroke Urban Art findet, nach dem fulminanten Auftakt in diesem Jahr in München, vom 13.-16. September 2012 in Berlin am Postbahnhof statt.

Wieder erwartet uns ein spannendes Programm, interessante Künstler, Street Art, Urban Art und  natürlich Berlin an sich - die Mutter der deutschen Street Art Kultur. Wer mit offenen Augen durch Berlin läuft, sieht nebst vielen vermeintlichen "Schmierereien" auch echte Juwelen der urbanen Kunstszene.
